Mauritius - Youth Entrenet


In 2007 the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, the Mauritius Employer’s Federation, and the support of the ILO, allowed Mauritius to invested intensively in implementating KAB into its cirricula. The first KAB training workshop held at Fort Louis, in December 2007, prepared 18 Facilitators, Trainers and Promoters- from 16 organizations  of various secotrs and institutions (vocational and technical training institutions, technical schools and the Mauritius Employer’s Federation to name a few)- for a pilot test in the 2008-2009 school year.

Similarly, the Industrial and Vocational Training Board (IVTB), a public training organization under the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, organised a 4-day workshop in February 2008 to train 36 officers, from 10 IVTB Training Centres in Mauritius, on KAB materials. After adaptation for the specific institutions, modules were distributed to be divided and taught in both their first and second years of their programmes.  By April 2008, approximately 10 IVTB Training Centres had begun delivering KAB entrepreneurship courses.
