The ILO developed Know About Business (KAB) package, has been introduced in Laos PDR since 2005 and since been adapted and supported by the Ministry of Education and Sports and was rolled out through the national curriculum beginning in 2011. The Laos PDR team has adapted the package to contain 9 Modules with 124 hours of Teaching and Learning, and additional 10 hours of businesses games, translated and published in Lao. With the support of the local ILO office and in partnership with the Lao-India Entrepreneurship Development Center (LIEDC) conducted a number of teacher training courses reaching almost 200 Facilitators, Teachers, Trainers and Promoters of KAB in more than 9 provinces. After much work and collaboration, the national government included KAB into the national curriculum for upper secondary schools, which began implementation in 2010.
History of KAB in Laos PDR:
In 2005, the Ministry of Education of Lao PDR, the ILO and the governmental organization Lao-India Entrepreneurship Development Centre (LIEDC) coordinated the first training of KAB Facilitators, Trainers and Promoters in the country. There were 27 participants from technical & vocational schools (TVET), secondary level schools and a non-formal education centers located in Vientiane, Savannakhet, Khammouane, Champasack and LuangPrabang.
KAB was pilot tested in 11 institutions, reaching around 624 students. The institutions and their provinces are listed below:

- Sikhottabong upper secondary school
Six Institutions in 3 Provinces

- Pakse upper secondary school
An extensive expansion of the KAB programme reached over 1400 students. In the 2006-2007 academic year, the KAB package was continued in the 11 Institutions which KAB was pilot tested in the 205-2006 academic year, in addition to 4 new institutions in the Luang prabang province namely: North non-formal Education Development Center, Santiphab secondary school, Muong Khai secondary school and Luang prabang technical school.
A third round of training of teachers, with the aim of reaching students in selected upper secondary schools in 6 provinces during the 2009/10 academic year was conducted in 2008. At this time Nine total workshops and conferences had been held and an estimated 115 Facilitators, Trainers and Promoters had been trained. The number of participating TVET institutions, secondary schools and non-formal education organizations has also increased exponentially to 20 and over 23,044 young students have been reached. After the Training of Teachers in 13 new secondary schools, the KAB programme was rolled out in the 2009 -2010 academic.
2009 was a year of increased training where 4 ToTs were conducted and in 2010 an additional 2, reaching a total of 117 new Facilitators, Promoters and Trainers (See Table Below) with the intent to roll out the package to additional schools in the capital among three other provinces as it is now an addition to the upper-secondary school curriculum.
